A paradise
The concept of paradise has been an important one throughout the ages. Its significance lies in its ability make human existence meaningful and livable regardless of the fact that it is inevitably fleeting. Paradise is a sanctuary of peace and abundance. It is a place not part of the normal timeline of history, and hence it is not afflicted by illness or crime, as well as death. It is also a place that is inhabited by people who are eternally healthy and young.
Paradise is described in many different ways It ranges from the Garden of Eden of the Bible to the lush Pacific Ocean islands of novels and Gauguin's paintings. Even in the present the rise of communes and renewed interest in outdoor activities and gardening can be considered to be a manifestation of paradise. The term "utopian" actually, invokes images of a paradise. Although not all utopias are based on religion, they often include motifs from paradise and are intended to embody certain characteristics of paradise under real conditions.
The word"paradise" has many different meanings and all of them refer to a state or condition that is awe-inspiring and enthralling. It can also be the ideal place for a particular activity or a particular hobby. For instance golfers' paradise or an hummingbird’s paradise. In a religious context it can be a reference to heaven as the place where the righteous go after they die.
Several different languages have used the term paradise, but it was originally derived from the ancient Iranian language of Avestan. The word"pairidaeza" comes from the roots pairi "around" and daeza "wall". It was later adapted to Greek as paradise and was later used in Hebrew and other Aramaic Scriptures.
In the Bible The Bible teaches that the Garden of Eden is paradise. It was a beautiful place where the first couple lived, unaffected of disease and death. When they rebelled against God and sinned, they lost their paradise. In the future Bible prophecies, paradise is an area where the happy human race will live forever.
